MSU has a licensing agreement to provide current students, faculty, and staff access to in-depth research and analysis on information technology topics from Gartner, Inc.
Permitted Uses & Restrictions
Gartner is a paid subscription, and resources are available only to members of the MSU community through the Gartner Portal in accordance with the License agreement. The License agreement stipulates the following things.
Authorized Users may display, download, and print one copy of the Licensed Electronic Resource for the user’s own personal purposes. Users may circulate copies of the Services, electronic or otherwise, only to other Authorized Users. Such copies may not be further reproduced or distributed. Authorized Users are not permitted to modify or create a derivative work from the Licensed Resource; remove, obscure, or modify any copyright or other notices; or use the Licensed Resource for commercial purposes.
Systematic downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information or using software such as scripts, agents, or robots, to retrieve information is generally prohibited.
Access is limited to Users solely for their own internal purposes while a member of the MSU community.
Users may not reproduce or distribute Gartner research services externally without Gartner’s prior written permission, except when part of an individual research document in its entirety if it purchases a reprint for the individual document. Users may excerpt from the Services only if they obtain the prior written approval of Gartner Vendor Relations at email@example.com. Any approved external use of the Services must comply with Gartner’s Copyright and Quote Policy which may be viewed on the Gartner Vendor Relations section of gartner.com. Services may not be stored on any information storage and retrieval system.
This electronic resource contains copyrighted material. The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of reproductions of copyrighted materials. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.”
When you register on the Gartner website, Gartner asks you for your NetID. This information is needed to determine whether you are an authorized subscriber and a member of the MSU community.
