SUMMARY:Brown Bag: MSU Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Offerings
DESCRIPTION:Speakers\nIT Services – Darryl Taylor\, Chris Lim\, and Charles Struthers \nMSU has been making investments in its virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). VDI allows faculty and students to have virtual labs/desktops without the need to actually purchase and run (high resource demanding) software on their local computers. The software runs on servers and the user can have the same computer user interface and experience on multiple computers across campus (and off-campus).  VDI allows for anytime\, anywhere access for the user\, it does not require the user to be in an MSU computer lab. It can provide a reduction in software licensing costs\, and it is a means of providing research (and teaching) data security. \nThis session will be of interest to all who want to learn more about MSU’s VDI implementation and how to gain access to VDI for their classes or research.  It will also be of interest to faculty who want to learn more about VDI and its potential benefits. \nEveryone is invited to attend. \nBackground\nThe Explorations in Instructional Technology Brown Bag series is hosted by the MSU College of Education\, College of Natural Science\, and MSU IT Teaching and Learning Technology. For more information\, contact Sev Grabski. Learn more about other faculty development opportunities. \nShare:
