SUMMARY:Brown Bag: Collaboratively Embodied Content in Synchronous Learning Environments
DESCRIPTION:Speakers\n\nJohn Bell\, College of Education\nWilliam Cain\, College of Education\n\nEmbodiment and Social Presence are important frameworks for understanding the experience of people being brought together via technology such as videoconference and robotic telepresence. Collaboratively embodied content applies these same frameworks to interactions that give priority to the embodiment of the content on collaboration\, in which people are also embodied in a thinner form. In this talk\, we will explore the concept of collaboratively embodied content and illustrate it using Google Docs as well as Microsoft HoloLens technology. \nThis session will be of interest to all who are would like to learn more about the HoloLens technology and also how technologies of this nature impact social interactions as a result of the embodiment and how this compares to traditional in-person collaboration or audio only collaboration. \nEveryone is invited to attend. \nBackground\nThe Explorations in Instructional Technology Brown Bag series is hosted by the MSU College of Education\, College of Natural Science\, and MSU IT Teaching and Learning Technology.
