Application Performance Management can be used in an application’s build and test stages to identify performance issues before deployment to a production environment.
After an application is deployed, APM assesses availability and performance by detecting any issues and identifying the root causes. This monitoring system can also help reduce Mean Time to Resolution if an application experiences any issues.
Once APM is requested, you will work with MSU IT on:
- User experience management
- Streamlined root cause analysis
- End-to-end application visibility
- Dashboards, reporting, and alerting options
There is no cost to add the centrally-funded APM service to a university application.
This service is supported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with regularly scheduled maintenance periods.
Service requests are acknowledged within 48 hours. When a request is made, an expected fulfillment date is provided and sent to the individual requesting the service.
APM tool availability is determined by the technology an application is built on and how it is delivered or hosted.
When getting APM set up, one or two technical leads will work with MSU IT to identify application performance goals and develop dashboards, reports, and alerts to customize effective analytics.
