MSU IT is the main Red Hat administrator, but there may be up to 30 local administrators also assigned as Red Hat is adopted by campus.
Ongoing Red Hat patches and updates are administered locally by MSU.
There is no charge to MSU departments for Red Hat Enterprise Linux licenses.
Red Hat is centrally funded to improve security across servers, applications, and hardware architectures at MSU.
This service is supported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with regularly scheduled maintenance periods.
Service requests are acknowledged within 48 hours. When a request is made, an expected fulfillment date is provided and sent to the individual requesting the service.
JBoss, OpenStack, High Availability, and Resilient Storage are not part of MSUs license with Red Hat.
They can be purchased separately through the MSU Computer Store.
