Rob McCurdy is Associate Vice President of Information Technology and Interim Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for leading Michigan State University’s (MSU) technology strategy and managing overall IT operations and services.
His initiatives include improving service delivery through embracing effective and efficient use of technology; creating business models for delivering new services; and leading strategic initiatives to transform the technology unit to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to the needs of the MSU community.
He served as MSU’s Chief Information Security Officer from October 2013 through July 2016. Prior to joining MSU, Rob was Chief Information Security Officer with Farmers Insurance in Los Angeles, California. In prior roles, he worked as a consultant for Accenture and Crowe Chizek in Chicago.
Rob joined Michigan State University in 2013. He grew up in Michigan and received a Computer Science bachelor’s degree from MSU in 2006.
