a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">web-based\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">assessment\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">tool<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">can be used\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to create more effective teams<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0There are two main tools within CATME that can be used to enhance teamwork<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: data-contrast=\"auto\">valuation\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">urvey.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These pedagogical tools<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">can be used to create<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">more compatible teams<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0based on demographic data and to gather<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0feedback on\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Creating teams is a simple process in which\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the instructor identifies which characteristics<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(e.g. leadership style, age, major, schedule<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0availability<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">they want to organize their teams around<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Students complete a short survey and then the instructor can use the CATME program to quickly make teams based on student<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0overall\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">compatibility<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Creating groups of a students with similar demographic information has the potential to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">impro<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is a web-based tool<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0that can be used to gather feedback on how well teams are working together. This feedback is collected from a short survey\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in which students rate themselves and their team members on how well<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0each person contributed to a group project.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This is a quantitative survey in which\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">students rank\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">each person in their<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0group from 1-5\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">for<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0various types of group\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">contributions, such as c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ontributing to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">team<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">work, interacting with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">their\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">teammates, keeping\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">team on track, expecting quality<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0work<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and having knowledge\/skills.
