In this workshop, Stefanie Baier, Hima Rawal (Graduate School), and the GTA Teaching and Learning Community will introduce participants to Bloom’s taxonomy and how to write learning outcomes which guide instruction. Tips and best practices to gauge student learning, strategies to give constructive feedback, how to cultivate a classroom built on rapport and communication strategies will be shared. Upon completing this session, GTAs will be able to: 

1. Write a learning outcome based on Bloom’s taxonomy. 

1. Plan an instructional activity based on learning outcomes. 

1. Summarize tips and best practices to gauge student learning. 

1. Identify strategies for giving constructive feedback. 

1. Cultivate awareness of rapport building and effective communication strategies.
