MSU IT Winter Break Hours

MSU IT WINTER BREAK HOURS

The hours and availability for the MSU IT Service Desk, Tech Store, and ID Office will be modified for the university’s winter break.

IT Service Desk Availability

  • The MSU IT Service Desk will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23.
  • The MSU IT Service Desk will be open Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The MSU IT Service Desk will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25 – Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
    • You can still report major service outages anytime by calling (517) 432-6200.
  • Services will be uninterrupted for groups in healthcare that have arranged coverage from the Service Desk.
  • The IT Services Desk’s regular hours of 7 a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week will resume on Monday, Jan. 5.

Need a New Password?

  • Reminder, passwords expire once per year. If you think yours will over the holidays, consider the following:
    • If you require a password reset, visit ithelp.msu.edu and click the green “reset password” button
    • Enter your MSU NetID when prompted
    • Select your preferred method for receiving a multifactor authentication code
    • Enter your new password when prompted
    • Hit the blue “reset password” button

MSU Tech Store Availability

  • The MSU Tech Store will be closed Monday December 22 – Friday, January 2.
  • On Monday, January 5, the MSU Tech Store will reopen with regular store hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

ID Office Availability

  • The ID Office will be open 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23.
  • The ID Office will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24 – Friday, Jan. 2.
  • Starting Monday, January 5, the ID Office will resume regular hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
