Support in developing research software, configuring, and compiling research software, obtaining licenses, and maximizing efficiency of usage.

 

CENTER FOR STATISTICAL TRAINING AND CONSULTING (CSTAT)

FEATURES

  • CSTAT collaborates on research projects including refining research questions, aims, and hypotheses; study design; sample size calculations and justification; data management considerations; and statistical methods.
  • As part of such a research project CSTAT provides support for statistical software packages including R, ShinyR, Mplus, Qualtrics, SPSS, and others.

PRE-REQUISITES

  • Must be an MSU faculty, graduate student, or research staff

CHARGES

  • Projects may be subsidized by college or unit-level sponsorship agreements
  • Hourly and FTE percentage rates may be available depending on scope of project

REQUEST

INSTITUTE FOR CYBER-ENABLED RESEARCH (ICER)

FEATURES

  • ICER provides support for configuring, compiling, and installing research software on the MSU supercomputer, obtaining and maintaining licenses for commercial software, and develop workflows to maximize efficiency of usage of research software.
  • ICER also provides software development, workflow development, code optimization, data analysis, and computational modeling services on a contractual basis as part of the Academic Research Consulting Service (ARCS).

PRE-REQUISITES

  • Must have access to MSU supercomputer or cloud-based resources

CHARGES

  • No cost for most support
  • Users may be required to pay for their own software licenses

ITS ANALYTICS & DATA SOLUTIONS

FEATURES

  • ADS helps design and develop custom research software, including packages and libraries for the R and Python languages with a focus on data analysis and data science applications.As part of this service, ADS will provide
    • Varying software and data development options including but not limited to:
      • Source code
      • Design
      • Access to development environments
    • Training for unit development and management, if requested
    • Custom environments for exploratory research
      • System algorithms
      • Program codes
      • Functional modules
      • Testing documentation
    • User instructions
