Media Storage

Kaltura MediaSpace is a cloud service providing storage and delivery of online learning media and academic videos for MSU students, faculty, and staff. MediaSpace accepts most common file formats and publishes media to a variety of devices, like smartphones and tablets, without needing to provide additional technical details.

Efforts continue to provide Spartan Skype for Business and Spartan OneDrive to the MSU community.

Online Collaborative Spaces

Web-based collaborative workspaces and storage for individuals and departments include Google Apps/G Suite for Education Edition and areas in the D2L Learning Management System.

Department Storage

MSU Information Technology maintains a highly redundant and secure enterprise class storage environment accessed via a server path, \\fileshare.msu.edu\your department name. We offer departments scalable storage to store and manage their data with automatic backups. The service is shared file space for a depatment that faculty, staff, and students can access from their computers. Different levels of permissions are available and set at the department level.

Cost

$100 per 250GB a year for department storage accessed via server path, \\fileshare.msu.edu\your department name

A Storage Area Network (SAN) environment is also available to provide departments with Virtual Server hosting.
