Printing at MSU
MSU Print is the centrally supported printing solution for MSU students, faculty, staff, and departments. More than 1.5 million pages are printed each year.
Printing Web Print from Your MSUnet 3.0 Connected Device
- Log in to https://print.msu.edu with your MSU NetID credentials.
- Click Web Print.
- Click Submit a Job.
- Select the East Lansing Campus.
- Select print options (e.g., single- or double-sided, black & white or color).
- All MSU Print printers can print single- or double-sided.
- Black & white printer can only print in black & white.
- Color printer can print in black & white or color.
- Click Print Options and Account Selection.
- Enter the number of copies and click Upload Documents.
- Click Upload from computer, select your file(s), and click Upload & Complete.
- Click Held in a queue (this may take a moment).
- Click Print.
- Choose your printer.
Web Print is only available from MSU campus locations. Print jobs can be uploaded and released from anywhere on campus (using MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, JPG, and Plain Text File formats).
Cost to Print
Black & white prints prices:
- 12 cents per 8.5 x 11 page
- 24 cents per 8.5 x 11 duplex page (double-sided)
- 24 cents per 11 x 17 page(Tabloid size is NOT available using Web Print. Available only in the computer labs where color printers are located)
Color prints:
- 20 cents per 8.5 x 11 page
- 40 cents per 11 x 17 page(Tabloid size is NOT available using Web Print. Available only in the computer labs where color printers are located)
Double-sided printing counts as two pages.
Print credits can be purchased by credit card, Spartan Cash, and student receivable accounts.
MSU Print Policies
- Spartan Cash transfers are non-refundable.
- Refunds of remaining balances will not be granted for students who leave the University.
- The remaining balance of Print Credits is non-refundable.
- Print credits are not transferable to another account.
- Print credits may be issued for damaged prints, low toner, or too-light prints.
- Refunds requested through the print credit request form must be submitted within 30 days of the original purchase.
Computer Lab Printing
Printing is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, in many locations, depending on computer lab building hours.
If you print from a computer in the lab or at the Main or Gast Business Libraries, your print job will be sent to the local printer assigned to that lab.
Department Printing
Departments can also request that printers be deployed in specific unit locations as part of MSU Print. To make a request, contact the MSU IT Service Desk at (517) 432-6200 or visit ithelp.msu.edu.

Sustainability
Our black & white printers use 20lb paper, which is 30% post-consumer recycled, and the Color printers use 24lb paper.
We use HP printer toner with recycled content.
