Brown Bag: Wireless Presentation and Lecture Recording: A Review of Free and Low Cost Options
Friday, Apr. 21 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Speakers
Chris Shaltry, Marty Spranger, and Sue Way – Department of Physiology
At this brown bag session Chris, Marty and Sue will discuss their use of a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet with an inexpensive wireless presentation device, the ActionTec ScreenBeam Pro. This combination of devices was used to increase student engagement in one of their large lecture courses. They will also discuss their experience with three free or low cost lecture capture programs, Camtasia, OBS, and Kaltura CaptureSpace along with a demonstration of the new Camtasia video editing system. Participants will be provided with handouts detailing the technologies presented along with an opportunity to discuss specific integration strategies.
This session will be of particular interest to all who want to learn more about various inexpensive recording options for use in their classes, either for lecture capture during the class itself, or for recording content to be distributed for student use in flipped, blended or face-to-face courses.
Everyone is invited to attend.
