MSU residence hall network upgraded during summer

MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities (IPF), Residential Hospitality Services (RHS), and MSU IT partnered to upgrade network equipment in the residence halls. This effort will provide a more consistent experience across campus, bolster reliability, and streamline troubleshooting for students who rely on connectivity in their academic experiences, as well as social interactions.

In addition to the work on the wired network, Wi-Fi was added throughout Holden and Hubbard Halls so that students now have Wi-Fi access in rooms along with the common areas. Other residence halls with Wi-Fi access throughout the buildings include Akers, Butterfield, Case, Holmes, Landon, McDonel, Rather, Snyder-Philips, and Wilson.

IPF, RHS, and MSU IT worked in close cooperation to ensure that any disruption or impact to campus business was minimized during the upgrades. The project finished on time and within budget.
