Linda Barrows, Information Technician within Academic Technology, was named 2021 MSU IT Student Success Award recipient during the June 9 presentation of the Excellence in IT Awards. MSU IT leadership presented six Excellence in IT Awards on June 9, recognizing the extraordinary efforts of its staff to advance student, faculty, and staff success. Awards were presented to MSU IT staff in the areas of student and staff success, as well as in the categories of Innovation, Virtual Champion, Outstanding Service, and Most Valuable Teammate.
Linda Barrows is a student supervisor with the Digital Classroom Services team who sets a high standard when it comes to training and quality assurance.
“I have several different roles for MSU IT, but as a student supervisor, I feel that it is important to lead by example,” Linda said. “I try to give our students the guidance and direction that is necessary to develop their skills to become productive employees after graduating.”
According to her nomination, Linda’s student employees are great examples of her hard work. “Her student staff have been prepared and successful having Linda as a leader during their college years,” states her nomination.
“I am so honored and grateful to be receiving this award,” Linda said. “I have been a student supervisor for MSU IT in a few different capacities and have enjoyed every year. My career has been very fulfilling thanks to my co-workers and our students.”
The student success award is granted to an outstanding individual who has made exceptional contributions and significant improvements to the student experience.
