MSU IT is making improvements to the current login experience for several MSU applications and systems. These changes enhance security, enable you to reset your own password, and reduce the time you spend logging in. Over the coming months, you will notice a new look for the login screen and a new way to authenticate and generate security codes (using multi-factor authentication) during login. We will keep you informed with communications regarding each change before they are implemented.
New login screen
While the new login screen is already in place for most MSU applications, you will see it implemented for others throughout late 2021 and early 2022. The new login screen requires no action from you and will not change your login information. See the old and new login screens below.

Note: You may see slight variations of the old login screen depending on the application

New multi-factor authentication
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of protection to your information and is required to log in to several MSU applications and systems, such as EBS. More secure than a username and password alone, MFA works by requiring an additional method to authenticate yourself (like a temporary passcode sent to you via app or text). The current solution (also referred to as 2FA, Symantec, or Symantec VIP) will soon be replaced.
