Whether you’re an experienced Geographic Information Systems user or new to the world of GIS, you’ll find something at the MSU GIS Users Group’s annual GIS Day on November 15. This free, one-day hybrid event features presentations and demonstrations from academic researchers and other professionals about GIS technology, which is used throughout MSU to enhance the work and user experience of students, faculty, and staff.
Attendees will discover how Geographic Information Systems innovations are impacting MSU while also learning how GIS may benefit their work. This event is open to all participants, including those from outside of MSU with any level of GIS experience, and will be a great opportunity to develop potential collaborations and network with GIS users.

GIS Day Keynote Speaker Biography
Everett Root is a MSU alumni and a certified GIS professional that has been with the State of Michigan for over 25 years. At the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, he has been instrumental in overseeing the MiSAIL Imagery program and serves as the primary liaison between the State and federal, county and local GIS organizations.
