New era of Microsoft Teams

Beginning on March 31, 2024, users will notice a new, updated Microsoft Teams. Microsoft will make this change automatically, so no action is required. New Microsoft Teams will more closely align with other Microsoft applications and introduce some new features and remarkable performance and security improvements, including 2x faster speeds and 50% reduced memory usage, providing a smoother and more responsive experience.

New Teams offers a simplified and streamlined user experience, that makes it easier to personalize experiences, stay on top of your notifications, and get more done in fewer clicks. Users can easily switch between multiple organizations and accounts to better collaborate and communicate, eliminating silos. Enhanced personalization options allow Windows and Mac users more control over the user interface. New Teams will automatically pick light or dark mode and switch based on your system settings, helping Teams better blend into your workspace.

New Teams has improved support for users with color sensitivity, using Windows 11 contrast themes so users can select a color palette that works best for their needs. You can efficiently keep track of your messages and notification activity, with features like “mark all as read” in chats or channels. Read about more improvements on Microsoft.com.

These updates are designed to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and provide a more cohesive user experience. The transition requires no additional training, and you can easily pick up where you left off in classic Teams.
