Michigan State University is committed to keeping our community informed about the technology services you rely on every day. As part of that commitment, MSU IT manages MSU Service Status, the primary source for timely updates on MSU supported technology services, including outages and scheduled maintenance.
We encourage all faculty, staff, and students to review their subscriptions to ensure they receive the most relevant information. MSU IT has updated the service categories listed in the MSU Service Status.
What’s changing
The service categories on MSU Service Status have been realigned to better reflect how MSU technology services are organized and used across campus. This update is designed to make it easier for you to:
- Find the services that matter most to you
- Subscribe to notifications that are relevant to your role or responsibilities
- Reduce unnecessary notifications for services you don’t use
These updates build on ongoing efforts to improve clarity, usability, and relevance within the MSU Service Status Service.
What this means for you
If you are already subscribed to MSU Service Status notifications, we encourage you to review your current subscriptions to ensure you are receiving notifications for the services you want to track under the updated categories. If you have not yet subscribed, now is a great time to get started.
