Beginning July 15, all instances of Java SE installed on MSU-managed devices will be replaced in phases with OpenJDK, a more cost-effective solution, to promote standardization across all units and to align with MSU’s operational excellence initiatives.Â

MSU IT is taking significant strides towards modernizing the campus network infrastructure with the ambitious Fee Hall Refresh Project. This initiative is the first phase of a broader network refresh and modernization effort, aimed at enhancing the digital environment to promote student, faculty, and staff success.

In late 2024, Michigan State University saw its first liquid-cooled racks installed at the MSU Data Center as an initial phase was completed through a partnership between MSU IT, the university’s High Performance Computing Center (HPCC), Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER), and Infrastructure, Planning and Facilities.
