Instructional Technology & Development

MSU IT provides instructional technology consultation services leveraging MSU technology resources to meet the needs of the students and faculty in-person and online.

Work with experienced instructional designers and instructional technology consultants on implementing effective learning strategies that engage the students and meet the course’s learning goals. Our consultants will:  

  • Assist in identifying and tailoring courses to meet faculty and student needs. 
  • Explore and leverage university-supported technologies to improve course effectiveness. 
  • Apply a studentcentered approach to instructional design and technology implementation to meet learning goals 
  • Design with established quality standards to meet accreditation requirements and university policy 
  • Facilitate quality reviews for online courses and programs through Quality Matters.
  • Craft effective strategies with faculty and administrators to support effective teaching with technology.  
  • Lead and facilitate faculty development workshops, presentations, and demos for faculty, administrators, and academic support staff that highlight the capabilities of centrally supported technology offerings. This could include online or hybrid teaching, teaching with technology, and other topics.  
  • Assist instructors in creating video and other media content for courses, programs, and departments.
  • Provide resources and consultations for accessible web development, course and content development, and reviews and evaluations of technology products and software for the MSU community.
