Getting Connected at MSU

MSU guests and visitors can connect to MSUNet Guest Wireless without needing an MSU NetID or to register their devices. Select MSUnet Guest under your device’s wireless connection options. You’ll also need to agree to abiding by the MSU Acceptable Use Policy for Information Technology Resources.

Community ID

Community IDs are used to provide limited access to web-based services for users are who not affiliated with MSU directly. Users typically include members of the general public who sign up for non-credit courses, distance learners, etc. The services accessible with a Community ID are limited.

Classrooms or Computer Labs for Events

Individuals or groups without an MSU NetID or events other than an MSU course must submit a Computer Use & Printing for Events Request Form. Read more on scheduling a computer lab or classroom.

These requests must be made at least two weeks prior to the requested date of use. It is to your advantage to request the dates as early as possible. All requests are subject to availability.

If you need to make changes or cancel a previously scheduled reservation, please contact the Registrar’s Office at (517) 355-4521 for MSU courses or the MSU IT Service Desk at (517) 432-6200/toll free (844) 678-6200 for events.

Equipment Rental

MSU Information Technology can also provide on-campus audiovisual (A/V) equipment and support for classes and other events in classrooms and university spaces. Read more equipment rental and ordering details.
