6 tips for your spring semester tech needs

January starts the new MSU spring semester. Get your tech ready with these 6 tips.

1. Update your passwords

Protect your computers, files, and personal information by regularly changing your password. Learn more about strong passwords.

Visit secureit.msu.edu for an extensive list of resources to help protect you from viruses, malware, phishing attempts, and more.

2. Know where to find tech support

Need help accessing MSU systems or troubleshooting your technology? The MSU IT Service Desk is available 24/7 to assist you. You can call, chat, or email MSU IT support anytime.

Need in-person help? Stop by the MSU Tech Store in the Computer Center room 110 and talk with an expert.

3. Download free Office software

As a current Spartan, you have access to Microsoft Office products at no-cost through Spartan 365.

Get the tools you need for class and download Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint now!

4. Know what software is in campus labs

Do you need access to specialty software for class? MSU computer labs have many of the specific programs you need.

Check out a computer lab near you and review the complete list of available software.

5. Find out more about D2L

Many courses at MSU use D2L to manage classes, readings, assignments, and more. Learn about D2L and check out the D2L app and stay on top of your coursework.

D2L Help is also available.

6. Check out printing options

Never worry about printer ink or maintenance again. MSU Print allows you to print anywhere on campus. A variety of printers are also available in the MSU Library and computer labs.
