MSU Undertakes Multicultural Center Feasibility Study

Michigan State University is in the midst of a feasibility study for a campus multicultural center. This initiative began shortly after President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D., announced the project in December 2019, noting the university’s efforts to provide a safe, respectful, and welcoming campus environment.

MSU is working closely with the student body during this process in order to ensure transparency and student engagement.

Stanley expressed the need for broad community engagement throughout the process. As such, the university has created a Multicultural Center website where visitors can learn more about the project (including an outline of the study, committees, timeline, and meeting minutes), share feedback, ask questions, and learn about the long history of student activism and advocacy for such a facility. Updates will be made to the website as further progress is made on the study.
