Whether you’re an experienced Geographic Information Systems user or new to the world of GIS, you’ll find something for you at the MSU GIS Users Group’s annual GIS Day on November 16. This free, one-day hybrid event features presentations and demonstrations from academic researchers and other professionals about GIS technology, which is used throughout MSU to enhance the work and user experience of students, faculty, and staff.
Attendees will discover how Geographic Information Systems innovations are impacting MSU while also learning how GIS may benefit their work. This event is open to all participants, including those from outside of MSU with any level of GIS experience, and will be a great opportunity to develop potential collaborations and network with GIS users.

GIS Day Keynote Speaker Biography
Mike Cousins is the Practice Leader for GIS at OHM Advisors and oversees a team of 12 GIS Professionals currently. He graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Geography with a Specialization in Spatial Information Processing. With 16 years of GIS experience, Mike is a certified GIS Professional (GISP) and a certified Esri ArcGIS Desktop Professional. He and has been with OHM Advisors for almost 9 years and specializes in the areas of GIS, GPS, Asset Management, Mixed Reality (MR) applications and other innovative technologies. Mike is the Chair of the MSU Geography Department Alumni Advisory board, Vice-Chair of the Frederick Douglass Academy for Young Men High School GIS Pathways program, located in Detroit MI, and a Board Member for MiCAMP.
