February technology development opportunities from MSU IT

Accessible course content is essential to creating equitable learning experiences for students with disabilities. In February, MSU IT Educational Technology is offering two development opportunities about accessibility tools that can transform how educators help students succeed in class.

  • In the drop-down bar, find the course title you are interested in

Additional technology training opportunities about collaborative tools such as Spartan 365 applications and Zoom can also be found at spartanslearn.msu.edu.

Accessibility Tips for Zoom 

Feb. 21, 10 – 11 a.m.

MSU IT instructors will demonstrate how to use Zoom’s accessibility features to accommodate different learning preferences and promote student success. During this course you’ll discover ways to promote the creation of a safe and accessible spaces for students to effectively interact with each other, their instructor, and course content.

Accessibility Tips for Read & Write and OrbitNote 

Feb. 23, 11 – 12 p.m.

Read & Write is a literacy support tool that offers help with everyday tasks like reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments, and proofing written work. OrbitNote allows for a greater deal of flexibility and interaction with documents to create a dynamic, accessible, and collaborative space.  MSU IT will demonstrate how to utilize Read & Write and OrbitNote to make your digital content accessible. An educational technology instructor will also help you download and connect these applications to your MSU account.
