Keep your Spartan Card secure

Protecting your identity is essential on and off campus. Whether you are a student, faculty, or staff member, your Spartan Card is a vital form of identification as a member of the MSU community. It’s your responsibility to safeguard your Spartan Card by never posting pictures on social media or sending pictures to unknown recipients to verify your identity in group chats or when purchasing tickets through third-party vendors.

Spartan Cards contain your unique MSU identification number. In the wrong hands, this number could be used to compromise your identity or scam fellow students.

It’s not just an ID. Spartan Cards provide owners with access to some buildings and parking gates, MSU Library services, Spartan Cash, admittance to athletic events, and dining plans. As your key to campus, it’s crucial to keep your Spartan Card secure.

If you think your ID has been compromised, contact the IT Service Desk at (517) 432-6200 or ithelp.msu.edu.
