Stay Safe Online: Student Cybersecurity Training Starts 10/1

Spartans: Your digital life, your social media, coursework, and personal data are important. And like anything valuable, it can be targeted or misused. That’s why MSU IT offers annual cybersecurity awareness training to help you protect yourself online.

While training is required for all MSU students, faculty, and staff, October is the month students are asked to complete the course.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Starting October 1, students will receive an email from the Ability Learning Management System (LMS) with a link to the training and instructions.
  • Emails will be sent out in waves over three weeks, so delivery dates may vary.
  • Once the email is received, students will have 30 days to complete the training.
  • The course takes about 60 minutes to finish.
  • We recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience.

Cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue, it’s a community effort. Every login, every click, and every password choice helps keep you and MSU safe. By completing this training, you’ll learn how to spot scams, protect your data, and contribute to a safer campus.
