New Zoom AI Companion

Zoom AI Companion is now available for MSU Zoom users. Zoom AI Companion is an AI‑powered feature set integrated into Zoom that supports meeting summaries, Smart Recordings, and real‑time assistance during meetings. These tools are intended to help reduce manual note‑taking and support clearer meeting outcomes.

What is changing?

  • Zoom AI Companion will be turned on and available to all users with a standard MSU Zoom account.
  • It will not be enabled on HIPAA-protected Zoom instances (such as MSU Healthcare.
  • These tools can help save time, reduce the need for manual notetaking, and create clearer, more organized meeting outcomes.

What do you need to do?

  • The feature will be disabled by default. Users can enable or disable Zoom AI tools on their account by logging into msu.zoom.us, navigating to “Settings,” and selecting the “AI Companion” tab.
  • Be aware when AI features are active. When a meeting host enables Zoom AI tools, participants will see a popup notification.
