Qualtrics survey tool available to MSU faculty, researchers, students, staff

MSU offers the Qualtrics survey tool as part of an enterprise license available to faculty, researchers, students, and staff. MSU Qualtrics was recently integrated with MSU NetIDs and passwords as part of the enterprise license and single sign-on authentication.

Qualtrics can be used for surveys as well as research data collection. The web-hosted service works across all major current browser versions and platforms.

How do I get started?

Visit qualtrics.msu.edu and click on the button that says “Log into Qualtrics.” Then enter your MSU NetID and password.

Read the MSU Qualtrics Getting Started for a quick guide on steps to creating a survey and other resources. Qualtrics Support also offers a library of articles on creating surveys, analyzing data, and research resources.

The MSU community should be familiar with the MSU Institutional Data Policy and MSU Web Accessibility Policy before creating any Qualtrics surveys. Exercise caution and discretion when working with Qualtrics.

What if I already had a Qualtrics account?

If you already had a Qualtrics account, you may have had a different username and password than your MSU NetID and password. This means you’ll want to get your previous account connected with your MSUNetID account and migrate past survey data.

Check out the information about Qualtrics account migration following the SSO implementation.

Help & support

MSU Qualtrics Support can also set up a Group of individual accounts within Qualtrics, which allows you to collaborate with other Group members. Group members have access to surveys, question and graphic libraries, and contact lists in the Group Library. If interested, submit the Qualtrics Group request form.

If you need help creating an accessible web survey, contact webaccess@msu.edu.

If you have questions about your Qualtrics account at MSU, please contact the MSU IT Service Desk at (517) 432-6200 or email ithelp@msu.edu.
