Creating Effective Assessment with Campus Tools

You’ll explore and compare tools for discussions, quizzes/exams, and creative projects, helping you choose the most effective options for your instructional goals and assessment strategies.

Enhancing Classroom Engagement: Mastering iClicker for Interactive Teaching and Immediate Feedback
November 12, 2024, 1:00pm – 2:00pm, Virtual
Looking for an interactive way to engage students and get instant feedback on their understanding? Discover iClicker, a classroom response system with polling and quizzing features. This session will walk instructors through setting up iClicker, asking both graded and ungraded questions, and running polls with all five question types—multiple choice, multiple select, short answer, numeric, and target. You’ll also learn to sync your class roster and grades with D2L Brightspace.

Certification Pathways

The Certification Pathways D2L Brightspace course, created by MSU IT, offers professional development for MSU instructors, TAs, instructional designers, and support staff. Through a series of workshops, you’ll enhance teaching skills, explore best practices, and integrate technology into your courses. Earn badges and certificates in areas like course design, student engagement, and accessibility, and gain credentials to share on LinkedIn while making your courses more engaging and efficient. 5-Minute Ed Tech Tips

For 5-minute D2L Brightspace and ed tech tool tips, visit the Instructional Technology and Development MediaSpace channel. Topics include learning about impersonating the demo student, uploading grades, and using grade schemes to save time and efficiently manage courses. The newest tips is Self-Enroll Groups as Sign-Up Sheets in D2L to help you easily create sign-ups for meetings or presentations. Throughout the year, MSU IT will release more videos about incorporating educational technology tools into your courses.
