Call for Presenters 2024 MSU Educational Technology Summit
This summit provides an opportunity for instructors, instructional designers, support staff, and vendors to showcase or discuss the use of educational technology available at MSU. We are inviting you to present to your campus peers about the ways you use technology to enhance teaching and learning in your classrooms.
We would like to offer you the choice of four 60-minute presentation opportunities:
- Demonstrate the use of one or more specific technology tools for teaching and learning.
New era of Microsoft Teams
Beginning on March 31, 2024, users will notice a new, updated Microsoft Teams. Microsoft will make this change automatically, so no action is required. New Microsoft Teams will more closely align with other Microsoft applications and introduce some new features and remarkable performance and security improvements, including 2x faster speeds and 50% reduced memory usage, providing a smoother and more responsive experience. Planon replaces MySoft for MSU IT service billing
Beginning with February 2024 billing information, customers who purchase services through MSU Information Technology (MSU IT) will find service billing information, including invoices, statements, reports, etc., in the new integrated workplace management system, Planon. Customers can still find MSU IT billing information before February 2024 in MySoft.
On January 22, MSU IT, in partnership with Infrastructure, Planning and Facilities (IPF); Financial Analysis; Institutional Space Planning Management; Student Life and Engagement; and University Procurement and Logistics, launched Planon to facilitate how units manage work orders and process billing for the campus community. MSU Spartan Mail: Changes to deleted email retention
There’s an upcoming change to the email retention policy for MSU Spartan Mail accounts. Effective April 3, 2024, the duration deleted items are retained within your mailbox will be reduced. Empowering Journeys: Hannah Kindree’s IT Odyssey at Educause 2023
The 2023 Educause Annual Conference in Chicago held in October, reinvigorated Hannah Kindree’s passion for IT. A graduate student at Michigan State University and MSU IT Department of Educational Technology student employee, Kindree attended the conference last fall as part of the Egoz Pipeline Scholars Program, which covered expenses in addition to providing a mentor.
