As you prepare for the semester, a few simple steps can help you ensure a smooth experience for you and your students on the first day of class.
Before Classes Begin
- Preview your classroom – use 25Live to virtually tour most of your classrooms, review available technology, and confirm the space meets your teaching needs.
- Test classroom technology – whenever possible, use the classroom desktop computer rather than a personal laptop. It is configured for the room’s technology and provides the best compatibility with installed equipment.
- Request assistance ahead of time – need help preparing your classroom technology? Schedule classroom support before classes begin.
Need Help During Class?
If you encounter a technology issue while teaching:
- Select the IT Help Button on the classroom computer, or
- Scan the QR code posted on the technology cart, or
- Call 517-432-6200
The IT Help Button and QR code options automatically generate a support ticket and provide the classroom location, helping technicians respond as quickly as possible. Response by a technician is not always available, and some issues can only be resolved when the room is not occupied, so always have a backup teaching plan ready to go to keep your class on track.
