Access to university systems disrupted Saturday, January 4

Access to several core university systems – including ANGEL, Desire2Learn, and computer lab machines – was disrupted Saturday, January 4, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The source of the problem was traced to a device that was overloading IT Services’ datacenter network and disrupting traffic to the Shibboleth identity authorization system used by the affected services. IT Services to upgrade to Windows 7, Office 2013 in computer labs

All university technology classrooms and computer labs using PCs will be updated to Windows 7 and Office 2013 over the summer for the fall 2013 semester.

This update will not substantially change the user experience in the labs, but older software will be affected. IT Services encourages instructors to test their software in advance. Read Full Article →
