• Demonstration of the technologies available in the Rooms for Engaged and Active Learning (REAL)
• Panel discussion with faculty members who have taught in the REAL spaces
• Workshop exploring how to utilize the space and adapt your courses to it.

The REAL (Rooms for Engaged and Active Learning) spaces at MSU are a pedagogical philosophy made manifest. If the traditional lecture style classroom is the ultimate expression of the professor-focused lecture, then the REAL spaces are that for student-focused collaboration.

During 2017 a range of strategic learning space renovations and technology investments were completed on campus. MSU IT supported upgrades to 33 instructional spaces that help with student engagement and student success initiatives.

Upgrades are part of a multi-year planning process at MSU and also involve Teaching and Learning Environment (TLE) funding requests from MSU IT. Read Full Article →
