New technology knowledge base system launched for the MSU community

MSU IT launched a new technology knowledge system providing MSU students, faculty, and staff access to help and support information. This new system may be accessed one of two ways:

Articles of particular importance to individuals without an MSU NetID (e.g., visitors looking to access the MSU network) are available on the technology help and support page.

This new systems replaces the formerly used public-facing Techbase system, scheduled for retirement on March 1, 2017. The MSU community will need to log into the IT Service Desk system or through the portal to search and access support knowledge articles.

New Features

Adding technology self help articles to the MSU IT Service Desk application consolidates help information in the same system used for processing incidents, requests, and service management activities across MSU IT. It also streamlines technology support for the MSU community and leverages available functionality within the IT Service Desk application.

The new system offers the ability to save searches, add and submit articles, and attach supporting documentation. It also provides a dashboard view of articles, incidents, and requests.

Accessibility

Michigan State University is committed to providing accessible, usable, and aesthetically pleasing websites and services. If you have trouble using the new technology knowledge system, please call the 24/7 IT Service Desk at (517) 432-6200 or email ithelp@msu.edu.
