Accessibility for Educators Summer Program

Co-sponsored by the Broad College of Business, the College of Education, and MSU IT, this virtual workshop series offers practical strategies and guidance to help you build more accessible courses so all students can succeed.

Sessions are held Fridays from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and include expert guidance, hands-on learning, and time for questions. Click on the following courses below to register.

This session will explore accessibility remediation strategies and best practices for creating content in D2L.

PDF Best Practices

Friday, July 10, 2026, 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Virtual

This session will cover best practices for working with inaccessible PDFs, including when to share native file formats, how to use stable links through MSU Libraries, and an introduction to the PDF remediation process.

Effective Alternative Text

Learn how to write effective alternative text, apply key guidelines for length and punctuation, identify when images should be marked decorative, and use alt text effectively in assessments.

Delivering Accessible Presentations

This session will cover accessibility best practices for in-person, online, and recorded lectures and presentations. Topics include incorporating audio description in live and recorded sessions, using PowerPoint subtitles, and understanding the basics of captioning and transcripts.
