IT Resources: What you need to know

Whether you’re new to MSU, in your final year, or somewhere in between, MSU Information Technology (MSU IT) is here to help with technology resources and support for all Spartans.

MSU IT Service Desk
The MSU IT Service Desk is here to help with your tech needs and questions. For resources and self-help, visit the IT Help portal at ithelp.msu.edu. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on the portal, Service Desk analysts are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., excluding holidays. You can chat with the Service Desk from the IT Help portal or speak to an analyst by calling (517) 432-6200.

If you forget your MSU login password, resetting it is easy. Just click the “reset password” button on ithelp.msu.edu.

MSU ID Office
The MSU ID Office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. in Room 170 of the International Center. The ID Office issues and troubleshoots problems with your student Spartan Card, sells Spartan Cash and dining plans, and is the only place on campus to purchase CATA bus passes.

Visit idoffice.msu.edu for information about picking up a Spartan Card, and be sure to bring a physical copy of your government ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID, etc.) when you do.

The MSU Tech Store is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. to help with all your hardware, software, and accessory needs. Located on the first floor of the Computer Center building, the Tech Store also features a walk-up Tech Bar to help answer questions.
