New features in MSU D2L version 10.5 allow for easy cleanup of courses that are carrying extra baggage from previous course conversions or years of accumulating unused files.

D2L self-directed training updated for instructors and students
The D2L Brightspace online training courses have recently been updated. All training videos and links to documentation now reflect D2L Version 10.5 materials. (Learn more about What’s New in D2L 10.5).

MSU community should save, migrate ANGEL data before May 15
ANGEL will be retired on May 15, as MSU moves to Desire2Learn for its centrally supported learning management system.
Please move from ANGEL any course, dev course, and group information that you want to save before May 15.
Course graded activities and grading data will be accessible in a read-only format for two years after the retirement to provide information in case course grades are contested. Read Full Article →
Check out D2L training and support options before ANGEL retirement
ANGEL will be retired on May 15, 2015, as MSU moves to Desire2Learn for its centrally supported learning management system. Many resources are available to support instructors and staff as they transition courses and groups to the D2L.
For a timely conversion, IT Services recommends any course materials and groups are converted from ANGEL to D2L prior to February 1, 2015, so users can experiment and get comfortable with the new system. Read Full Article →

MSU IT Services coordinates MSU Seminars in Research and Instructional Technology in the spring and fall.

MSU launches D2L sandbox for instructors to try new version
IT Services launched a “sandbox” of the newest version of Desire2Learn (D2L) at next.d2l.msu.edu for immediate play and experimentation before the full upgrade in December.
This sandbox is only for trying out and previewing, not for live teaching. All content remaining in the sandbox will be lost in the next upgrade. Read Full Article →
MSU is launching new Desire2Learn features for fall 2013
Starting in the fall 2013 semester, MSU is launching several new features in the MSU Desire2Learn (D2L) Learning Management System.
New features- New gradebook feature: Upload grades from the D2L gradebook directly to the Registrar’s Office has been added. Faculty will still need to go into the Registrar’s system to submit final grades, but the process of moving the grades from the D2L gradebook to the Registrar’s Grade System can now be done by pressing a link.
Desire2Learn Conversion Labs to be held at MSU in February, March, April
D2L Conversion Labs will be held around campus to provide instructors with a hands-on course conversion experience to facilitate smoother transitions to Desire2Learn (D2L).
Conversion labs are held through MSU IT Services and co-sponsored by the Office of Faculty and Organizational Development.
