Tips on preventing CryptoWall malware from infecting your computer

MSU Information Security is warning computer users about a damaging new form of malware called CryptoWall, which has hit MSU’s campus.

How CryptoWall works

Infections can take place in a variety of ways, but the two most common are malicious links and email attachments.

When infected with CryptoWall, all useful files are irrevocably encrypted unless the victim decides to pay a ransom to receive their files back. Read Full Article →

REAL videos now available to help with tips and tricks

MSU faculty member Cathleen McGreal recently participated in the Rooms for Enaged and Active Learning (REAL) Academy and has been teaching in these spaces for the Spring, 2014 semester. She recently took notes on things that worked well and common instructor and student questions. MSU Faculty Perceptions and Attitudes in Academic Work

This year, MSU IT Services partnered with the Educause Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR) to distribute a survey measuring faculty attitudes and perceptions of campus technologies in their academic work.
