Zoom Pro license available to MSU students, faculty, staff on May 13

MSU IT Services will be expanding its Zoom licensing agreement due to the success of the tool that first launched at MSU in January 2014.

MSU Adobe Connect to be retired on August 1

On August 1, 2015, the MSU Adobe Connect system will be retired, in part due to the success of the MSU Zoom conferencing service that first launched in January 2014.

MSU IT Services will be expanding Zoom licensing starting on May 13.

MSU community should save, migrate ANGEL data before May 15

ANGEL will be retired on May 15, as MSU moves to Desire2Learn for its centrally supported learning management system.

Please move from ANGEL any course, dev course, and group information that you want to save before May 15.

Course graded activities and grading data will be accessible in a read-only format for two years after the retirement to provide information in case course grades are contested. Read Full Article →

SecureIT site provides information security guidelines to MSU community

The SecureIT site recently launched to provide the MSU community with one place for guidelines and best practices on information security.

MSU employees first used the site as part of the two-factor authentication rollout in March and April 2015.

The site also includes personal safe computing information, ways to safeguard your devices, phishing precautions, password tips, and illegal file sharing details. Read Full Article →

MSU NetID site redesigned for increased usability

The MSU NetID website has been redesigned (below) and updated to increase usability for the MSU community.

MSU NetIDs are personal identifiers assigned to all current faculty, staff, students and retirees. NetIDs also determine MSU email addresses.

New features

The new NetID design highlights faculty/staff and student audiences on the home page, as well as provides specific steps for NetID activation. Read Full Article →

The spring 2015 Seminars in Research and Instructional Technology for university faculty, academic staff, and graduate assistants will be May 12-13 in computer labs and classrooms on MSU’s East Lansing campus.
